MOSCOW, Jun 21 (PRIME) -- Tension on Russia’s labor market has started to rise gradually, the number of the registered unemployed has increased in June, Labor and Social Protection Minister Anton Kotyakov said in his speech in front of the Federation Council, parliament’s upper house, on Tuesday.
“In some extent we can see that tension begins to rise gradually on the labor market… In the latest periods of June, we can see certain growth of the number of the unemployed, registered in the employment centers,” he said.
Kotyakov attributed the rise to the sanctions pressure.
Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Russia’s employment is a top priority topic.
“Employment is a critical indicator, which helps us assess macroeconomic stability as a whole. It is a crucial indicator, and it is especially important for the president to keep it at a certain level… It is also a topic of top priority for the government, we are making effort to mitigate the consequences,” he said.
